Korean folklore rendered as slick urban fantasy, coasting happily on Lee Dong-wook's charisma while Kim Bum's resentful half-brother supplies the show's sharpest ache.

What is Tale of the Nine-Tailed about?

Once a mountain deity, a nine-tailed fox now works modern Seoul as a bounty hunter of rogue spirits, waiting out the centuries for the reincarnation of the woman he gave up his godhood to save. A documentary producer who has chased supernatural rumours since childhood finally corners him, and she happens to wear that lost woman's face — dragging both of them back toward a curse neither has finished paying for, and toward the half-brother he abandoned.

Tale of the Nine-Tailed (2020) Review: A Fox in Seoul

Tale of the Nine-Tailed turns Korean gumiho folklore into a stylish urban fantasy romance, powered by Lee Dong-wook's charisma and Kim Bum's wounded brother.

Yes. It is a slick, entertaining folklore fantasy with a strong brotherly heart, best for K-drama fans who enjoy mythology and can live with a melodramatic back half.
