Celluloid editorial verdict
What is Pinocchio about?
Ki Ha-myung lost his family to a false news report and grew up under a borrowed name in a fishing village. Years later he walks into the newsroom that destroyed him as a rookie reporter, sharing a beat with Choi In-ha — a trainee with so-called Pinocchio syndrome, who hiccups uncontrollably the moment she tells a lie. Their first year on the job turns into a running argument about what journalism owes the people it writes about, and about the one truth neither of them can print.
