What is The 'Burbs about?
New parents Samira and Rob trade city life for his childhood cul-de-sac in Hinkley Hills, where the casseroles arrive with unsettling smiles. As the neighborhood's only Black resident, Samira can't shake the sense that the abandoned Victorian across the street is watching her back — or that her husband knows far more about this street's buried history than he's letting on. A reimagining of the 1989 cult favorite that plays its suburban nightmare for laughs as often as chills.

The 'Burbs (2026) Review: Cul-de-Sac Mystery, Light on Dread
★★★☆☆
The 'Burbs reimagines the 1989 cult comedy as a Peacock mystery series about a new mother on a creepy cul-de-sac, breezy and charming thanks to Keke Palmer.
It depends. Keke Palmer fans and viewers after a light, funny neighbourhood mystery will enjoy it; anyone hoping for the original film's manic edge or real scares won't.
