Dar-e-Nijaat Review (2026): Love, Loss and Forgiveness

Dar-e-Nijaat is the Pakistani drama of 2026 to make time for: Umera Ahmed's story of love, loss and forgiveness, lifted by an excellent ensemble led by Dur-e-Fishan Saleem and Sheheryar Munawar and by Saqib Khan's polished direction.

★★★★½ 4.5/5

Verdict

Yes. Dar-e-Nijaat earns 4.5/5 for its performances, Umera Ahmed's writing and Saqib Khan's assured direction. Watch it if you enjoy slow-burn romantic and family drama with a moral core.

Is Dar-e-Nijaat worth watching?

Yes. Dar-e-Nijaat is one of the strongest Pakistani dramas of 2026, and I rate it 4.5/5. Three things carry it: an ensemble cast that is excellent from the leads down, Umera Ahmed’s writing, and Saqib Khan’s direction, which gives the serial a polished, unhurried look. It is a slow-burn romantic and family drama rather than a fast-moving thriller, and it rewards viewers who enjoy that rhythm.

This review was written in late October 2026, while the serial was still airing on ARY Digital, so it judges the episodes broadcast so far rather than the ending. It contains no spoilers beyond the opening premise.

What is Dar-e-Nijaat about?

Zaryab (Dur-e-Fishan Saleem) is the carefree daughter of a wealthy family who has always pictured her future with her childhood friend Zamil (Nameer Nawaz Khan). When those plans fall apart, her life becomes entangled with Abu Bakar (Sheheryar Munawar), a principled man raised by his mother, Khushbakht (Sania Saeed). From there the serial becomes a story about heartbreak, the choices people make after it, and what it takes to forgive.

Dar-e-Nijaat is written by Umera Ahmed, directed by Saqib Khan and produced by Three’s Entertainment; ARY News reports that it is the company’s first television production. It premiered on ARY Digital on 1 August 2026 and airs on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm Pakistan time. The title is also spelled Dar-e-Nijat, and in Urdu it is در نجات.

It has also become one of the most talked-about Pakistani dramas of the year. ARY Digital announced in October that the serial had passed 1.7 billion views across social media platforms after 23 episodes. That is the channel’s own figure rather than an independent measurement, but it explains why the drama is trending well beyond Pakistan.

A strong ensemble cast

The performances are the first reason to watch. Dur-e-Fishan Saleem leads as Zaryab, with Sheheryar Munawar as Abu Bakar and Nameer Nawaz Khan as Zamil, and all three central performances are strong.

The supporting cast is just as good. Sania Saeed plays Abu Bakar’s mother, Khushbakht, Faran Tahir plays Zaryab’s father, Habib, and Saba Hameed and Romaisa Khan round out the family. In a long serial, a cast this consistent is what keeps you coming back each week.

Umera Ahmed’s writing

Umera Ahmed, who also wrote Sinf-e-Aahan, Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Alif, returns to the questions she handles best: dignity, mistakes, faith and the possibility of forgiveness. Those concerns give the romance a moral backbone. The drama is interested in why its characters make their choices, not only in what happens next, and the dialogue gives the actors plenty to work with.

Direction and look

Saqib Khan directs with care. The serial looks handsome and expensive, and he gives scenes room to breathe instead of rushing from one confrontation to the next. That patience suits the material: the emotional turns land because the drama lets you sit with the characters long enough to believe them.

Who should watch Dar-e-Nijaat?

Dar-e-Nijaat is for viewers who like romantic and family drama with a moral core, and especially for fans of Umera Ahmed’s earlier serials. If you enjoyed Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Parizaad or Sinf-e-Aahan, start here. Viewers who want fast plotting and a twist every episode may find the pace deliberate.

New episodes air on ARY Digital on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm Pakistan time, and ARY Digital posts episodes on its official YouTube channel; the episode 1 upload is labelled with English subtitles (checked 28 October 2026). Availability on other services varies by country.

The verdict

Dar-e-Nijaat is a beautifully made Pakistani drama that earns its popularity. An excellent ensemble, Umera Ahmed’s morally serious writing and Saqib Khan’s patient direction make it one of the year’s essential serials. The finale is still to come, but on the strength of the episodes so far it is easy to recommend.
