Does No Way Home have a post-credits scene?
Yes — two. There is a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene. Stay seated through both if you care about Doctor Strange continuity and the emotional landing of Holland’s trilogy reset. If you only care about the Spider-Man story you just watched, the post-credits beat is the one that actually closes it.
Walk out at the first logo and you miss the quietest scene in the film. Walk out after the mid-credits and you still miss the point of the spell.
What happens in the mid-credits scene?
Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is pulled into a new crisis that tees up Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After the spell that makes the world forget Peter Parker, Strange’s next problem is not Spider-Man’s secret identity — it is another multiversal rupture. Treat it as a hard handoff into the next MCU Strange chapter, not a Spider-Man teaser.
If you are never going to watch Multiverse of Madness, this sting is optional advertising. It does not change Peter’s ending.
What happens after the credits?
Peter, now truly unknown, rebuilds a small apartment life alone — no Aunt May, no MJ or Ned who remember him as Peter. It is not a joke sting. It closes the trilogy’s identity theme: the world is safer, and Peter pays the cost in isolation. If you left during the logos, you missed the quietest (and most important) beat.
This is the scene that makes the spell’s cost visible. The mid-credits is homework for another movie. The post-credits is this movie finishing its sentence.
Do I need to watch other Spider-Man films first?
For the villains’ arcs, yes — prior MCU Holland films help, and the Maguire/Garfield cameos land harder if you know those trilogies. For the credits alone, No Way Home is self-contained. You can understand both stings without a spreadsheet. Where to watch and scores: the movie page.

Who should skip the wait?
Skip the mid-credits if you are done with MCU connective tissue. Do not skip the post-credits if you watched the whole trilogy for Peter — that is the landing. Skip the film itself if you wanted a light joke-a-minute Spider-Man without grief; the not-for line will say the same thing.
