In 1970s Detroit, working-class romantic John Miller falls for a gangster's girlfriend and is framed for a crime he didn't commit. Potsy Ponciroli's Motor City strips a 1970s Detroit revenge plot down to bodies, cars, and a disco-rock pulse — roughly five lines of dialogue, and Alan Ritchson carrying the rest like a wrecking ball with a broken heart.
A stylish, nearly wordless grindhouse throwback that works as pure kinetic cinema even when the story is pure archetype. Worth a ticket if you want summer counterprogramming to Nolan and Spider-Man.
