Impetigore (2019) Review: Folk Horror in the Blood
★★★★☆
Impetigore is Joko Anwar's Indonesian folk horror about a young woman who returns to her birth village to claim an inheritance, beautiful, cruel and gripping.
Yes, for horror fans with strong nerves. It is atmospheric, frightening and superbly made, though a talky final stretch and heavy gore will divide viewers.
