What is Epic: Elvis Presley in Concert about?
Baz Luhrmann assembles newly restored 1970s Las Vegas concert footage — unseen reels, remastered audio, and contextual interviews — into a theatrical document of Elvis at the height of his live power. Archival performance material anchors the film while Priscilla Presley and other witnesses frame Elvis as a stage animal first, myth second. Luhrmann argues the concert hall, not the biopic montage, is where Presley remains most alive — and remixed sound design makes the case in IMAX. The result is celebration without cheap nostalgia, built for volume.
